Some early contenders for the 2008 awards.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Versus Horton Kirby: Shampoo: Sir Richard of Eltham arrived bright and breezy at the ground, loosened up, had a tab and went to change only to rememer that he had given the laundry department the day off. Thus in a cloud of Mini smoke, he returned to Eltham to retrieve the articles himself. That will teach him to empty his kit bag in the winter.

Versus Horton Kirby: Shampoo: Something about Wily having a slight stumble during a heroic attempt to stop the ball. Watch this space for further editing.......

Versus Horton Kirby: Shampoo x2: It is reassuring in these times of financial uncertainty that some things in life remain constant: namely that Rich will forget his kit for the first game of the season and that Nige carries his own personal trip wire - genius on both counts!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Versus Horton Kirby: Champagne: From the Wily Junior's wily bowling, having strayed down the leg side to the left-hander who got a good tickle on the ball, Al Smith launched himself, deployed the go-go-gadget arms and plucked the ball from the air.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Versus Merton: Shampoo: As seen by Mack the Fish: he leapt like a salmon, arching his back to take a flying catch with both hands behind his head and over his shoulder.

As seen by everyone else: a camp little leap up towards a dolly of a catch that he was already stood directly underneath.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Versus Elliott: Shampoo: standing at deep square leg and deep backward square respectively, Wilies Senior and Junior waited for the expected hoik shot. When it came Senior got half a hand to it but it was still heading boundarywards when Junior reacted like lightning and pawed the ball back in for Senior to pick up and throw in.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Versus Old Whitgiftians: Champagne: Posted to mid-wicket just in time for Fish boy to bowl a long hop (obviously good captaincy) Henry flung himself to his right to stop the ball that had been cracked away by the batsman.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Versus Detling: Champagne: A fine catch from Andy. Need some more details than that please!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Versus Borstal: Champagne: Harry's first wicket for the Ducksmen against a well-set opening bat.

Any more nominations please?
